Stopped in for lunch during Capital Pride weekend--and while it wasn't a flawless meal, it was a genuinely pleasant stop.
Service was a clear highlight — our server was professional, attentive and made a great recommendation: the mimosa martini, which has now become my new go-to brunch cocktail. If you visit, don't skip this one.
Food-wise, results were mixed. The smashburger and fries were well-executed in concept but came out noticeably over-salted. The shrimp and grits had nice flavor, though the texture of the grits leaned grainy rather than smooth and creamy — a small fix that would elevate the dish significantly.
The ambience more than made up for it. We opted to sit outside, which was lovely, but the interior has its own appeal — a slightly worn, lived-in charm, plus a standout front window counter that's perfect for people-watching while you eat.
Overall, a solid stop for brunch and drinks, even if the food needs a little fine-tuning. The vibe, the service and especially that mimosa martini make it worth a return visit.
🗝️ Bottom line: Great cocktails, great service, food just needs a touch more polish.
